You don't make money just by solving problems.

It's true.

It's logical to think that:

  1. Solving problems creates value.
  2. Value can be captured, making money.
  3. So, solving problems makes money.

What's taken for granted is how to capture value. You need infrastructure to account for the value exchange and to capture some of it.

There's so much more value created than captured in the world. That's a good thing :)

Summary: Solving problems is necessary to make money. But it's not sufficient. Solving problems create value, but still needs to capture it.
